My family moved to Beecher in 1964, right after President Kennedy died, and we moved into a house right across from the theater on Saginaw st. Right next door to the north was a little grocery store called Ma's and it was attatched to a little garage called Sy's auto repair. On the week end I would sneek through the exit gate and play on the swings and slide, right up front of the screen. The most memorable movie that I watched was Elvis Presely in the movie Viva Los Vagas. When they were closed on the week days, Me and my brother Dennis would climb up a ladder built into the inside of the screen and climb onto the top roof of the screen.
We could see all over the Beecher area. That next summer they closed. I sure had a lot of good times back then I'll remember forever. We moved to Mt.
Morris in 1966.
