June 31, 1950 - NEW DRIVE-IN THEATER READY TO OPEN Charles and Emery Bonham of Clare will open their drive-in theater four miles south of Clare on US-27 Wednesday evening. The 500-car theater will feature all-modern equipment and will present top and late release pictures, owners said. The Northland became the second drive-in for the Mt. Pleasant - Clare area. The Sundown was opened by Ward and Olsen north of Rosebush two weeks ago.

The Northland Drive-In on Mission Rd. , which was just three miles north of the Sundown Drive-In in Rosebush, is gone. A mini storage and constuction company now occupy the site. The only evidence remaining of the drive-in are the screens concrete footings. The lot has been partially excavated.
