Hi Joe, You are correct. The McCleans owned the drive-in in Wauseon, Oh, the drive-in in Morenci, Mi. and at least for a time, the Rex Theater in Morenci. They also owned a motel at exit 20 on the Ohio Turnpike outside of Wauseon. The Morenci Drive-in was barely inside Michigan by several feet.

The McCleans were close friends of my family and have passed on.
3/20/2010 - Joe again
The owner of this drive in was Mr. D. L. McLain who opened the Star in Wauseon and also this place.

Might be a mistake in owners here - Bill Jenkins built and ran the Sky in Adrian, not the Skyline in Morenci. I do not recall the original builder of the Morenci Drive-in but it was the same fellow that built the Star Drive-in in Wauseon Ohio not too far away. He sold the Wauseon drive-in to the Wyse family about 1961. They ran it until Sept 1999.

July 1959 - William Jenkins' Sky Drive-In at Morenci is now on three changes a week.

A recent site inspection confirms the info of other sources, which is, the location was just north of the Ohio border (by about 50 feet) and that a factory is now located on the old lot.
1/11/2003 - Steve Carroll
There is a factory on the propety now,no trace of this drive in exist.
