The phone # has been 517-458-3327 since March of 1997. We own the Theatre and have continuously kept it open since March of 1997. All seats have allways been $3. 00. We show G,PG, and PG-13 movies.

The theatre seats 216 people. It is air-conditioned during the summer months.
9/8/2007 - Ivy Hutchison
The Rex Theater is open and going strong. They play new releases and are operating mostly on Friday and Saturday evenings. The price as of today is $3. 00 a seat and the popcorn is delicious making it affordable to attend a movie with the whole family.

4/14/2004 - Box Office Magazine
July 6, 1959 Issue - Bill Clark reports that the Rex at Morenci, operated by Robert and Delora Paine, is closing for the summer.
1/15/2004 - Cinema Treasures
The former Gem was built in 1916 as a venue for both vaudeville and the movies. The Rex was vacant for years until THSA member Evan Chase bought the theater and restored it. A theatre organ was installed at that time. The theater was sold in 1995 and is still operating (as of late 2000). Cinema Treasures Link.
