I added a comment to the main page for the Bijou. I was relief manager in addition to managing the Michigan a block or two away. It was around 1960. I always wondered if any of the Butterfield theaters still existed? Battle Creek was a nice town and I have fond memories of it. I mentioned it in a book titled THE GOSSIP COLUMNIST.

The Bijou Theater opened in 1909. It was built on the site of the former Hamblin Opera House by Walter S. Butterfield. This theater was remodeled around 1940. The Bijou Theater was demolished in August of 1984.

While the photo of the Team Active building looks like it may have been a theater at one time, it was not the Bijou. The Bijou was on the other side of the street and was demolished in August of 1984.
