I believe at one time before the doors closed, the Fordson was owned by my grandfather Joseph Stoia. He later built the Circle Theatre on Warren and Miller in Dearborn in 1937.

Fordson Theater, 10149 Dix, Dix/Vernor.

The theater opened in 1926 with a capacity of 600 and closed in 1955. There is an article on the opening in the 9/24/1926 edition of the Fordson Independent newspaper. I came across this while researching my Dad's old neighborhood. If anyone has photos, this would be most appreciated. The newpaper article follows: NEW THEATER OPENS HERE IN FORDSON A new movie house, known as the Fordson Theatre opened its doors last Thursday on Dix avenue in Fordson.

This theatre has a seating capacity of 600 and changes shows five times a week. The show is located near Salina street on Dix and offers the several thousand people in that neighborhood a place of entertainment. Mr. Retty, one of the partners, states they have had a full house every night since the theatre opened.
