The Pied Piper goes back to the mid 1950's according to the historical aerial photography. It was once owned and operated by Paul Shepherd who was active in the church as the 1971 article below indicates. I also found a mention from 1974 in a "society column" section in which a couple took their moms there for Mother's Day. Very quaint that you could read about nice, mundane things local people were doing in your community. Does the paper still do that? I don't know.
As for the fate of the restaurant, it appears the building may have stood until the early 2000's. It is now the site of a Fifth Third Bank as of 2022.
