Contos opened in 1955 as a Cocktail Lounge and Show Bar. It featured live entertainment for many years. In the 80s, it hosted metal bands from what I have read. It eventually was converted to a gas station and a car wash, while retaining the bar. As of 2025 the iconic sign remains but the buildings are abandoned
