Update 11/10/2025 from David Solomon:
I am 74 and grew up on Van Atta Rd and remember Orson Winslow. The motel goes back well before the 1950's. I don't know exactly when he started it but my guess is the late 20's or maybe the 30's. Some of the cabins were literally just big enough for a bed (there must have been an outhouse). Others were bigger. A few are still there and I think used for storage. I think the motel was pretty much phased out in the 1950's. I don't know exactly when he added the trailer park, but I remember it as a little boy in the mid-1950's so it goes back at least that far. Thanks for keeping up this site. I really appreciate the post card. Brings back memories. I can give you some more history about Winslow and that corner if you are interested.
I tracked this place down, it is now called Winslow's Mobile Home Park. Some of the old cabins may be sprinkled in on the lot. It was started by Orson Winslow, probably in the 1950's.
