The Mel Manor was built by Mrs. William D. Coen in 1952, operating until 1960 when she passed away. The mentions in the newspapers for the Mel Manor end in 1978 so I figure the name was changed soon after. At the end, it was operating as the Welcome Inn. As of 2022, the motel is closed and the property is for sale. Update Dec 11 2022: I went by this place today and took some fresh photos. This place was quite huge for what it was. Several wings of rooms and a pool. It is pretty run down, I can't imagine anyone being able to re-open it given the expense involved.
