There were some tourist cabins at this site in 1952 which was later converted to a full motel. It was once operated by the Drost Family and the Mack Family after that in the 1960's. It came up for sale again in 1973. Eventually the motel changed names to the Charlevoix Motel and has apparently closed. The building still stands, perhaps it is an apartment complex now. The Silver Birch Motel sat right next door but that was demolished in 2000 or so and the site has a restaurant on it as of 2023.
