This motel seems to go back to the 50's or 60's. I found an article from 1983 indicating Bill Carmichael and Bob Smarr owned the place and were operating a 26 foot fishing boat from the lakefront motel. It also came up for sale in 1992 and 1999. You can still charter a boat from the motel as of 2023.
