12/4/2010 - Beverly Lapham
This was my favorite theater to go to in the 1950's. This is the theater I first saw Wizard of Oz. I can remember having only paying 50 cents to get into a movie.
2/26/2009 - Marilyn
This was the coolest downtown theater when I was a kid. The only thing I remember about the inside was the 2nd floor boxes on the sides of the balcony. Every year they would have a free movie for gradeschool kids and we would form a line and walk there from school. No wimpy buses for us! I remember Abbot and Costello and the 40 Foot Bride and a movie where two kids were transported back in time to a pirate ship. That one was pretty gory for a kid''s movie in the 1960''s.
