The 48 lane Melody Lanes goes back to 1964 or so. It was managed by Eddie Lubanski at that time. He was named Bowler of the Year in 1959, and later served as bowling instructor and president of the Professional Bowlers Association. He was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, ABC Hall of Fame, Polish American Sports Hall of Fame and City of Detroit Sports Hall of Fame according to Wikipedia. It is a bit odd there isn't much else on it in the newspaper archives as it operated for many years in Southfield. The original structure still stands and houses 2 retail outlets. It looks to be in great shape.
