Update 10/13/2025 from Daniel Deeds:
I am the oldest grandson of Stanley and Stella Deeds, who owned and operated this facility from about 1960 until about 1964. Today's building at 8530 Vernor Hwy is the same building that housed the bowling alley from the 1960s that is listed at 8508 W Vernor Hwy.
I have some original logo items that indicated it was called Deeds Lodge & Lanes, at least at one point. My grandparents operated the bowling alley, as well as a bar adjacent, and rented out three small store fronts on the corner of Vernor Hwy and Wendell St. They lived behind the bar and bowling alley at 2333 Wendell. Grandpa had custom bowling balls for my brother and I, who were about 4 and 6 years old when they lost ownership. They had manual pin setters at the time, and could not get a loan to install automatic pin setters, which is what all the leagues were demanding. When they lost their bowling leagues, they could not be profitable with just the bar, so closed.
I do have memories of what a 6 or 7 year old grandson would have of his grandparents bar and bowling alley. They are fond memories, for sure.
I don't have much information on this alley other than 3 mentions from the 1960's and a car accident report from 1957 that occurred out front. The building on Vernor does indeed have some typical bowling alley features although it is not operating as such as of 2024. I will keep digging for more info. I have a feeling the name changed over the years and that is why I am not finding much.
