The theater last showed movies around 1978 - since that time it has been owned and used exclusively by the Port Austin Community Players. PACP does around 6 plays per year. The movie projectors were removed in the early 1980s. The old projection booth, which has since been remodeled, as has the whole theater, serves as storage for stage props. The theater has had several expansions and renovations while serving as a playhouse, the latest in around 1998.
