The Main Event was a disco that opened around 1976 although this building was probably used for other things over the years. The sign was clearly sitting on the lot at 10472 until about 2015 or so. Ned Gracin was the general manager during the 70's. Later on the club featured live entertainment also after it switched to a rock format around 1977/1978. Zooster, Mugsy and many other popular Detroit bands played there. This place was once directly across the street from the old Lakes Drive-In in Brighton. Both are now gone. The bar burned down in 1998.
