The Douglas Auto Theatre closed on July 24, 1985. The last movie ever shown there was "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome". The lot then sat there abandoned for 20 years until a beverage distributor bought the property and built a warehouse there in 2005. The neon marquee is now on permanent display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI
