Update 7/5/2025:
I received a submission below which caused me to re-evaluate my identification of this motel. I always appreciate the feedback and I was happy to dig further into it as I was never 100% on it. Finding a different vintage postcard and comparing it to the 1975 aerial photo to me proves the ID (see photo comparison below). There was a row of shrubs out front which are very distinctive that can be seen on the 1975 aerial and the old postcard. Facebook and Vintage Aerial submitters also agree.
Here is a recollection from George Ancona: "Hi, regarding the North Star Motel, we stayed there back in August 1967 or '68. We were on vacation, I remember we went to Gustafson's for dinner by that time after dinner it was dark as it was a later dinner. I remember it was very foggy and we were on our way back to the motel and my dad had passes it up, don't ask me how because it had quite a large sign in front , Blueish star if I'm not mistaken. We turned around and got back to our rooms. One thing though, I really think the motel was on the North side of route 2 but I could be mistaken. I did return back to the area in 1976 by myself and I'm pretty sure the motel was there but I stayed at Gustafson's for some reason, maybe it was closed???? not sure. I am 67 years old now and if someone can shed some light on this subject, that would be neat. Thank You for reading my short story."
I have determined this was also the old North Star Motel. It is on the old 1950's aerial as a smaller motel. It was run by Walter Boho in the earlier days and his address was 4345 W US-2, which is also the address given by Yelp for the Brevort Motel. I a using W4385 as Google Maps understands that address better than the official address of the motel.
Additionally, brickwork, the door and window layout convince me the North Star was expanded and eventually became the Brevort Motel. I have deleted the separate entry I had for the North Star. Even though the mailing address is Moran, I am going to re-designate this as being in Brevort as it was called the Brevort Motel. The motel has been demolished and 2 newer buildings sit on the lot as of 2023.
