Update 2-9-2024: I have kind of a long shot location on this motel. I believe it was where Parkside Mini Mart sits as of 2024 and in fact the old motel building was used for the mall structure. I have pretty convincingly lined up some of the windows and doors. The motel was 2 buildings but it seems the buildings were joined. The historical aerial shows 2 buildings like the motel. The golf course view I believe comes from the back end, the older historical aerials show artifacts that look like golf greens and sand traps. For now I will go with this location.
I have not identified a definitive location for this motel after studying the aerial photos. It is not operating as of 2022 and my feeling is it is long gone. The postcard indicates it was 1/2 mile south of town near Otsego Lake. There is a golf course on Old 27 in that area too. However, I am not seeing the site on the photos. Oddly, there are no mentions of it in the newspaper either. This motel was once operated by Harold and Marie Gray, Rudy and Ilse Trunk, John and Bea Desso, as well as Lorne and Alma Dickinson.
