Update 6/8/2025 from Dan Cherry, the definitive Lenawee County Historian:
In 1960, it was the Cardinal Motel and next door was Barney's Service Station. In my 1965 and 1971 file, it was known as Barney's Service and Motel. Barney was Barney Bernard Marowelli. Sandy Kelley lived in the house/service station at the time of the fire. She was away on vacation and the determination was arson. That corner didn't have much luck. A wood building on the same lot in 1992 was also burned. The building housed "Veteran's Garage Sale" - I seem to remember it was a roadside sale shop where proceeds went toward veteran needs.
Update 4/26/2025: I finally got a bit of a lead on this place. The store was called 4-Bee's Party Store as of 1981.
This motel may have been a couple of cabins at first, according to the aerial photography from the 1950's. Eventually, a store and small motel were built on the site by the 1960's. I tried to find the name but was unsuccessful for now. I did find 2 people associated with the property but that didn't lead to finding out the business name. Both the store and the motel were gone by 1990. This place was probably a stop-over for folks traveling up and down 127 in the old days. It believe it was converted to apartments at some point.
