The Southgate Motel goes back to the 50's or 60's. It was operated by Clyde and Kay Cady as well as Laura and Leroy Swanson. I have a feeling this place was at or near 2384 S I 75 Business Loop, which is now a mini-mall. The reason being there was a PO Box associated with the pay phone at this motel which came up associated with several other businesses, one being the mini-mall. That's pretty thin but better than nothing. There were a bunch of motels along that stretch of road so it gets confusing.
