Update 9/7/2025:
I visited Laingsburg yesterday and the old Elite Theatre building remains unchanged pretty much since my 2006 photo. There was some trim paint and architectural details added to the facade. It appears there may be (or was) a crafting business operating in the storefront but its hard to say. There were also a couple of physical therapy outlets in there prior. The building still looks nice.
The actual address of the building is 239 E Grand River Rd, not 226. I believe the 226 address was being used when the theater was open but that is actually a building across the street which still stands.
2006: A recent site inspection and conversation with the son of the original owner of the Elite reveals that the building still stands. The theater operated for decades in various forms, starting out modestly and eventually upgrading to 35mm equipment. The theater was open until the 60's.
