Tuscola County: this village in Koylton Township was first settled by Alanson K. King in 1857. It was given a post office as Newbury on May 28, 1867, changed to Kingston, after its first settler on Feb. 16, 1871. Incorporated as a village in 1893 [MichHist 42:109 1958. Mrs. Vernon Everett.
