11/1/2006 - Dave - Bronx NY
This opened in 1976. I was the manager of the Dort Mall Cinema down the street and got invited to the Grand Opening - a Big Splash opening, like a Hollywood or New York premiere - black tie, champaigne, etc. As I recall, at the time one theatre was showing x-rated movies, the other theatre had strippers on stage. Off of a hallway on the side was a room with peep-show booths, another room with an adult book store and a third room with pinball machines and pool tables with girls in bikinis walking around making change for the machines. T-shirts were given out as souveniers.

It was quite a lavish place, considering most of these kind of operations open in seedy neighborhoods in old abandoned theatres and storefronts.
