From what I can tell, this 36 hole putt-putt course was operating as early as 1964. There was also a snack/ice cream concession on site. I figure the location was chosen because it was right next door to the old Lakeshore Drive-In Theater which had been operating there since 1948. One business compliments the other. The owner of the course in the 80's was Mike McGuffin as the article below indicates.
The drive-in closed by 1986, which I imagine hurt the putt-putt business. The course did continue to run beyond that up until about 1993 when it went up for sale. I saw no further ads beyond 1993 for the course. They had been running ads very regularly through the years. By the time I went up there and took photos in the summer of 2002, it was overgrown and closed. By 2009, the course and the building were gone. It is now an empty lot as of 2022. You can still see markings on the turf of where the structures stood.
