The old Smith's Motel goes back to 1949. The place was opened by Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith. There was an auction of the contents in 1964 but it remained open beyond that. It was built up in stages. Initially it was a smaller, T-shaped motel. Eventually an extension was added to one of the wings, which was probably the Northway Inn, a restaurant. Or, perhaps they were adding more guest rooms. Apparently the restaurant was moved there from another location in 1961. By the early 2000's, another restaurant building opened up which is occupied by a Chinese place as of 2023. I doesn't appear a motel is operating at the site at this time.
