The old Armata Motel goes back to 1956 and was started by Mr. and Mrs. Leo Armata. They expanded the motel from 6 units initially to 12. Mrs. Armata prominently got herself listed in the "Who's Who in the Midwest" in 1965. She had been running the place as Mr. Armata was working in the mines up in Ironwood. The last mention in the newspapers under the Armata name was in 1998. Eventually the place became known as the Quinn and is still operating under that name as of 2023. You can see the original sign still stands.
