Update Feb 4 2024: After some research, I have determined the Nor-Mad still stands and is operating (as of 2024) as the Northshore Motel. It gets fantastic reviews and looks excellent. The building has been modified over the years but the door and window configuration matches up. The Cook Shack restaurant next door is now gone but the building can be seen on the historical aerial from 1971.
This motel was built around 1963 according to the newspaper archives. Norm's Cook Shack was also on site. The "Norm" in both names was a man named Norman Oliver. The newspaper archive indicates he was trying to sell the place by 1972 as a survey of the property revealed part of his business was on city land. Norm also owned the Garden Grove Motel.
