This motel was opened by Ralph Fletcher. It featured a drive-up window to check in which was quite an innovation for the time. It's actually a great idea and it seems like it would work in the present. Robert Fletcher, who I assume was the brother of the owner, was also a part of the business. He was also involved in the Bible distribution program that was popular back then. Organizations would donate Bibles to motels and hotels to ensure all rooms had one. The Fletcher Motel operated for many years in the area. It was put up for sale in 2002 for $1.5 million. Sometime after 2010, the building was sold and demolished to make way for a car dealership.
