The Comfort Motel goes back to 1951. An article states it was frequented by businessmen and tourists visiting the Shrine of the Little Flower. It operated for many years but by the 1990's, local residents and city officials were getting agitated about crime issues at this motel and several others. This was related to the patrons of the motel obviously. Eventually the place was forced to close and was demolished by 2003.
