This old motel and trailer park was opened and operated by the Land family. One of the daughters, Terry Lynn Land, would be familiar with anyone following Michigan politics. She was Secretary of State, a US Senate candidate, Wayne State University Board of Governors member, and member of the RNC. I am pretty sure about the location as a Google Map search takes you to Grandmark Lodging and some of the old buildings look similar to the postcard. There was also a trailer court next door which matches up to the mention in the article about Land.
