The Crest goes back to the 1950's. I found an article about the murder of Lonnie Barron, a guitarist, disc jockey, and dance hall operator. Turns out his girlfriend worked at the Crest. "He had no faults" she stated. He was murdered for allegedly messing about with the killer's wife. The motel is still operating as of 2023 and there is a nice view of the Ambassador Bridge if you stand outside.
