Former site of the University Drive-In
From John Green
There are two "ditches" where the screens from the University Drive-In originally rose, and they are still very present on the site today and look very odd to those who dont know the history of the site. This location has gone through more renovations than almost any other Showcase. Originally, upon opening in 1988, depending on who you ask, it was either a 10 or 14-plex, can never get a straight answer on that. Beginning in the Summer of 97, the building was completely renovated and remodeled, adding stadium-style seating, and 6 new theaters. This addition also relocated the lobby. In 2001, the building was again remodeled on the inside to add the Movie Walk Cafe. And, in the next two weeks, it will be remodeled AGAIN, moving and expanding the cafes.
