General Information:

This camp/conference center seems to have been run by the Michigan Education Association which is basically the teacher's union. I am guessing it is now (or was) some sort of rehab center. I say that because it is the only structure of that magnitude on St Marys Lake. That and it seems to have been built in the 50's or 60's. There is a photo of what looks like the lobby below and it is quite something to see. I am not sure if that is intact today.

8/8/2024 - Russell M DANIELS
My grandmother, Madeline Wilber, worked at the camp for over a decade, occasionally taking me to her worksite in the dining area. I have a newspaper clipping from the January 13, 1957, edition of the Battle Creek (then Enquirer and News) concerning a remodeling of the camp and showing her and her co-worker, Mrs. Raymond Griggs posed in that area. At the time it was a conference center for the MEA.
