Char Lanes goes back to 1960 and was opened by Mr. and Mrs. Chartles Martens. They also owned Charlotte Recreation. The original version had 12 automatic lanes. Sometime before 1971, you can see from the historical aerial photos the place was expanded to 24 lanes. The alley is still going in 2023. It looks great and the reviews are very good.
