The Patrician Motel opened with great fanfare in 1956. It was considered a high-end place at the time as the ad indicates. The rate was only $7 per day which seemed reasonable for the time. By the 1970's, crime was becoming a problem in that area. I found many articles on it but I won't post them here. The place struggled along through the 1980's and was eventually closed. By 1999, it was razed. That entire block had buildings on it and the entire thing is an empty lot today.
