Update 5/21/2025: I believe I have located this motel on the 1955 aerial photo. The classified ad below indicated it was 1 mile South of the Carp River on US-2 and there is a motel with that layout at the address I have listed. The motel is gone and a private residence now sits on the lot. The motel disappeared from the map by 1976.
This location of the North Gate is tough to determine as the postcard states this place was 11 miles north of St. Ignace on US-2, Soo Hwy which I assume refers to what is now Mackinac Trail. It was also claimed in an ad this place was close to Drummond Island. This really can't be the case as 6 miles North of Castle Rock doesn't get you close to that. It was operated by Frank and Catherine Rice.
