The Vindel probably goes back to the 1960's. It was originally an L shaped building. By the 1990's an extension was added on to add some extra rooms next to where the pool sits. I have a feeling it may have operated under a different name in the early days. The first mention in the newspaper archives I found was from 1973 so it's hard to say.
Back then they had a hyphen in the name as in "Vin-Del". There was a name registration in the newspapers from 1986 by Gerald and Marion Loveland so they probably owned it back then. There was also a 1994 mention that Larry Strouse owned the place at that time.
It's very cool to see the traditional outdoor pool still operating. Many vintage motels have removed their pools. I would imagine you can see the big bridge from the premises also. Overall, this place looks very nice and the reviews are great. They also did a great job on their Google listing with professional photographs. I will definitely stay here at some point.
