Dettman's as a lodging company goes back to the 30's. There were cabins in the beginning, then a 30 unit motel and eventually 57 units. If I am analyzing the photos and the postcard descriptions correctly, I would put the place at where Best Western Harbor Pointe sits as of 2023. The Dettman family eventually sold this place in 1973 to Gene D. Wade, who was president and treasurer if Western Stoneware. There were ads in the newspaper archives in the late 1980's so it was still going then. By the early 90's it appears at least a major portion of it was demolished. Eventually the sprawling Best Western took over the entire parcel.
