Rainbow Recreation goes back to 1929 or before and had 20 lanes. The building was an American Legion Post which it may have been when the alley was running. John Gavie, the "Night Mayor of Detroit", who was instrumental in creating the Detroit bowling scene, worked at this alley in the early days. As of 2023, the building is boarded up and sits empty.
