Holiday Inn - Various MI

Individual Holiday Inn listings on this site:

• Holiday Inn Southfield
• Holiday Inn Ann Arbor
• Holiday Inn Farmington

This Holiday Inn post will act as a "catch-all" for various Holiday Inn's around the state that are not covered in the previous individual listings. There are/were so many it would be inefficient to create all of them individually. Work on this will be on-going as I find more images and information.

Locations covered so far:

• Muskegon: I-96 and US 31 near Mona Lake - This Holiday Inn seems to be operating as the Mona Lake Inn and it has been remodeled somewhat.
• Romulus: Near Detroit Metro Airport - The original "old style" Holiday Inn in Wayne (it doesn't appear the address is actually Romulus) seems to be gone. The postcard gives the address as 31200 Industrial Expressway which I believe is now Michigan Ave. There is a shopping center there now and the historical aerials aren't definitive. More research will be needed on that. There are 2 Holiday Inn's near Detroit Metro today but neither of them are this place.
• Warren: Probably near GM Tech Center on Van Dyke although it is now gone or replaced.
• Holland: Not sure of the location of this one either.
• Jackson: Address given on post card was 2000 Clinton Rd. There is no Holiday Inn there as of 2022.
• Dearborn: Address given on post card was 22900 Michigan Ave. There are condos there as of 2022 which may or may not be the old hotel building.
• Lansing: Address given on post card was 3121 E Grand River. There is a Quality Inn there as of 2022 that appears to be a newer build.
• Benton Harbor: Address given on post card was 2860 M-139. There was a hotel here called the Lake Breeze Inn which was razed by 2007. I am assuming that was the Holiday Inn also. As of 2022, this is an empty lot.
• Spring Lake: Address given on post card was 940 Savidge. This is a Holiday Inn and it is still open as of 2022. It appears it has been modernized somewhat and it looks nice. Great setting too.
• Flint: Address given on post card was 2207 Bristol Rd. This address has a hotel on it called the Airport Inn which was an Econolodge. It was also a Day's Inn for a while. Is this the old Holiday Inn? Probably not, but the location is right.
• Niles: Address given on post card was 930 S 11th St. This Holiday Inn was closed and the facility was operating as the Niles Inn into the early 2000's. That closed also and the place was razed sometime after 2019. New construction is in progress as of 2022.
• Detroit: Address given on post card was 1331 Trumbull. This Holiday Inn was closed and converted to the Trumbull And Porter Hotel. It looks like it was given a nice facelift.
• Traverse City: Address given on post card was 615 E Front St. This Holiday Inn is now operating as the Delamar Traverse City. The building looks to be the same.
• East Side of Detroit: Address given on post card was 15600 Harper. This Holiday Inn is now operating as the Travel Inn. The building looks to be the same.
• Grand Rapids: Address given on post card was 250 28th St. This Holiday Inn is now operating as the Grand Rapids Inn. The building looks to be the same.
• Kalamazoo: Address given on post card was 220 E. Crosstown Pkwy. This location was demolished sometime before 2007 and was an empty lot for a time. It is now the home of a new building.
• Pontiac: Address given on post card was 1801 Telegraph Rd. This location was demolished and a Lowe's store sits on the lot as of 2022.
• Gaylord: Address given on post card was not given. There is a Holiday Inn Express in Gaylord as of 2022 but it is not this place. I will assume this one is demolished.
• Midland: Address given on post card US10 and Eastman. I am not seeing a Holiday Inn at that location. There is a Holiday Inn in town as of 2022 but this one seems to be gone.
• Grayling: Address given on post card 2650 I-75BL, Grayling. I am not seeing a Holiday Inn at that location. There is a Ramada by Wyndham on this site as of 2022. I am not sure this is the same building.
