This was a tough one. There were 2 motels very near each other on that stretch of US-31. They also had a similar shape. A classified ad stated that the Hillside Motel was "across from the Red Carpet Restaurant". The Red Carpet was once part of a bowling alley that as of 2022 is called Striketown. There was a motel across the street from Strikedown and one next door, which I have now determined to be the Sunset.
2 other small websites gave the address as being 1675 US 31 for the Hillside but that is actually the Sunset. That motel was next door to Striketown, the sign of which still stands. An old classified ad gives the address of the Hillside as 1670 and, given the aerial photography and other information, I will go with that. One thing I noticed was the Hillside lost a wing between 1981 and 1993 which changed the shape from the sky. Both motels are now gone.
