The old Briar Hill was a classic motel. Sadly, it was demolished to make way for a not-so-classic hotel which was the Traverse Victorian Inn. I stayed there once with my family years ago as we couldn't get in to one of our normal hotels and I remember the staff being pretty rude. The Traverse Victorian was eventually closed and converted to an assisted living facility. That didn't work out either and as far as I can tell it sits empty as of 2022. I am sure something will be done with it, its a good location.
