The old 10 unit Sands Motel goes back to the early 1960's. In 1964, Frank and Janet Lindsley moved from Benton Harbor and took over. Eventually new owners came in and dramatically remolded the place, even adding a second story. It became the much more modern Brio Beach Inn. If you look hard enough, you can see the lower level still has similarities to the Sands. The Brio Beach is going strong as of 2023 and gets great reviews.
