The Beachcomber goes back to the 1960's. It was run by Jerry and Kris Auger in the earlier days. There was a series of unique diagonally placed half walls on the back patio that can be seen on the vintage aerial photo and the postcard. The name was changed to Travel Lodge (or maybe Travelodge) by the 1970's. It oddly appears as Beachcomber yet again in the 1980's in the newspapers. That address was also a Knights Inn. The original structure was wiped out in the late 90's or early 2000's to make way for what is now Peninsula Bay Resort.
