The old Saginaw Motor Court shows up on the 1954 aerial photos. At the time California Ave did not exist so it wasn't really a corner lot. There is a party store on the lot now although part of the footprint of the motel is barely visible. I believe the place was demolished by the 1980's. This place was run by Mr. and Mrs. Claude Royal, as well as Jim and Ann Menter. I am not sure who was the original owner. The tradition of a married couple owning an independent motel together was always the norm in the old days and continues to this day to some extent.
